Bayou Cluster met February 7th at Grace Lutheran Church in
New Orleans. Peg Swavely and Patty Greiwe were in attendance
with us. They shared information about the convention
resolution, Lutherhill project and the upcoming Joint Convention
in August.
Our program "End of Life Decisions and How to Support Patients and
Care Givers Making Them: presented by Reverend Amy Ziettlow, who
is the chaplain and administrator of Louisiana Hospice Care in
Baton Rouge, was enlightening and well received. The
ladies of Grace serve a wonderful lunch. It was a very pleasant
beginning to a lovely Saturday. FYI As of this writing we do not
have a replacement coordinator as I have resigned after many
years at the helm.

SE Houston's Cluster meeting was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in
Baytown, on Febrary7 21, 2009. Pastor Bonnie Parker was our
program speaker. Her topic was "Discovering Unknown Women in the
Bible." We learned there are a lot of women in th bible, some
know, some named, some unnamed, and some completely unknown as
they are only mentioned. It was a very interesting program. the
who attended enjoyed St. Paul's Cross wall. The offering was
designated to be given 1/2 to Synodical Scholarship Fund and 1/2
to "A Place to Grow for all People", Lutherhill.
Information about the upcoming Joint Convention was given to all
who attended. Watch the Scroll for information on the Fall
Cluster Meeting. We will hold election of officers at the
meeting. So don't be shy but do prayerfully consider
volunteering to be an officer. It is not difficult and it can be
rewarding. Also it's a good way to meet other ladies in your
cluster and learn more about the Women of the ELCA.
