Triennial Gathering

Greetings ladies!! Our outstanding September 25, 2010 Convention Gathering is just around the corner. One day on Saturday from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm. Invite your sisters, mothers, daughters and friends.

The ladies of Peace Lutheran ( 6435 Fairmont Parkway , Pasadena , TX 77505 281-487-1635) are extending their gracious hospitality by preparing a small continental breakfast and wonderful lunch for participants.

It will be an exciting one day event filled with “Fantastic Speakers”, “Fun Workshops”, opening and closing “Worship” opportunities, “Unique Displays” plus Election of Synodical Women’s Organization Board Members and 2011 Triennial Delegates during the Business Session!

COUNTRY STORE OFFERED AGAIN!! – PLEASE BRING YOUR PRE-PRICED ITEMS SATURDAY

Suggested pricing is between $3-$5 dollars with suggested donation of 10 Hand Crafted items/Unit. Proceeds will go to our Companion Synod Fund. Shop Keeper is Lynn Schweke.

Bring Clean or dry cleaned full suits, blouses, skirts each in a separate Dry Cleaner bag. Recommended size 14-20+. Donations Must be in Mint Condition with all pieces attached; also accepting scarves, shoes and purses in Mint Condition. These donations are used by women who interview for a job and are entering the work force.

Hotel: Should you need a room Friday evening we have some rooms reserved to August 31, 2010 under “Women of the ELCA” at La Quinta Inn & Suites 3490 E. Sam Houston Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77505 281-991-7771. You must make your own reservations.

Offering: Two opportunities to support our Churchwide Women’s Organization and Lutherhill 9:00 am and 4:30 pm. Morning Matins will be a “Noisy Offering” – save your loose change to make a joyful noise.

1. Gift of Friendship - Sandy Wodrich with Marilyn Somers from Brenham , TX . Experience the bond of “Friendship” and tips on keeping “old friends” and making “new ones” of all ages.

2. Spiritual Gifts - Sharon Sledge from Highlands , TX. Discover your “Spiritual Gifts”, how you can use them to grow in your faith.

3. Gift of Diversity - Beverly Curtice with Patricia Lazenby and assistance of Liz Curtice from Houston and Liberty , TX . Expanding on the Keynote address, the ladies will present an interactive opportunity to learn more about Anti-Racism, “Diversity” and Individual Spiritual Awareness.

4. Gift of Giving Angels - Sheryl Holland from Dickinson , TX . “Angels” are all around us. This craft will help you to create and give seasonal and personal angels.

Gift of Dance - Peg Swavely from Houston , TX . Experience the joy of sacred “Dance” as a gift

to share with others; no dance experience needed.

6. God’s Gift of Water - vEnessa Acham – Church Wide Representative from New Hampshire . “Explore How “Water” is depicted in Christian art that binds us together through baptism, parting of the Red Sea , The Flood and more. “Water” is truly a gift from God.

7. Gift of Creativity – Zendoddeling” - Jany Reeves from Pasadena , TX . This craft should get your senses moving as well as your “Creativity”.

8. Gift of Encouragement - Sue Beall from College Station , TX . What does it take to be an “Encourager’? Come and find your own means to encourage and accept that gift from others.

9. Gift of Music (Karaoke) – Virginia Rodriguez from Pasadena , TX . Experience the joy of creating “Music” through Gospel and other music.

10. Gift of Protecting Identity - Bobby King from Pasadena Police Department. Learn the importance and tips on “Protecting Your Identity”.

11. “Amplify Your Gifts” - Julia Sweet from Houston , TX . Introductory Scrapbooking a special

way to express and “Amplify” your love of others. (One time only)
