E-VOTE TO APPROVE THE CHANGE TO RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR ON SITE NOMINATIONS

(formally from The Floor) to start with 2009 Joint Convention.  – Please respond by 6/1/09

Dear Board Members, 

Forwarding the information from Churchwide regarding the NEW PROCEDURE for Nominations from the floor via an ON SITE NOMINATIONS DESK.  – This comes from Marilyn O’Connor at Churchwide.

 Please read and VOTE TO APPROVE.

Procedure will be added to the nominations booklet.

This procedure will start with the Joint 2009 Convention and details will be repeated in the next INTERCHANGE.

 ON Site (Floor) Nominations hours this year will be from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday since Business Session will begin at that time. 

• Note requires signature of 5 delegates. 
• Picture portion is up to committee – if other candidates are supplying a picture, then committee may need to set up a photo shoot opportunity

 I will add the information to the convention script and Ann Nicholson will make changes to the Rules of Procedure.  This is part of what the delegates vote on as general procedure at a convention.  There will be NO Nominations from the floor.

FYI -  ALSO NOTE: Any Board member who is planning to run as a Board Officer and has one more year to serve on her term, must officially submit a letter of resignation at our Pre Convention Board Meeting (Thursday August 6, 2009).  The board needs to accept that resignation and approve it as part of the nominations process.

The board member will also be called upon to formally state that during the Convention Nominations process.  This will be scripted.
