We represent the women of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's
Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod.
We have 126 churches
 from Schulenberg, TX,  then east
through Houston and New Orleans, to Slidell, LA,
and to the northernmost churches at
Lufkin, TX
and Baton Rouge, LA.

A brochure is being prepared to help communicate the TX-LA Gulf Coast Women of the ELCA project to help fund and furnish the Nurses Station at Camp Lutherhill in LaGrange, Texas. Read more about it.

GOOD NEWS:  Patricia Lazenby has graciously volunteered to be THE SCROLL Editor while we were at Triennial Convention and Gathering in Salt Lake City.

NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY JoAnn Fuchs has
retired from the Historian position.  She has been elected to the churchwide executive board!  We need a new HISTORIAN who will be the Scrapbook person for the women's synod.  Contact President Peg Swavely for more information.

PURPOSE
STATEMENT

As a community of women
created in the image of God,
called to discipleship in
Jesus Christ, and
empowered by the
Holy Spirit,
We commit ourselves to
grow in faith,
affirm our gifts,
support one another in
our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and
promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

 Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on a level path.

The symbol -- with the cross, water and a white lily -- identifies the women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as children of God; baptized, forgiven, adopted into God's family, full of grace and hope in eternal life. It is a reminder of the growth, beauty, and vitality that rises out of that life-giving baptismal water. It is also a reminder of the mission of the church to "Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
